BALL VALVE LEVERS

BALL VALVE LEVERS

WHAT IS A BALL VALVE LEVER

Within a pipeline or system, a ball valve is a flow-control device for liquids or gases, operating via a bored sphere. The lever—or handle—is a mechanical component that allows manual control of flow by rotating it from 0° (fully open) to 90° (closed).

TYPES OF BALL VALVE LEVERS

Mollificio Valli designs and manufactures ball valve levers according to the technical specifications provided by the customer. Each lever is custom‑engineered to ensure precise and secure fitting to the corresponding valve body, meeting the mechanical, functional, and ergonomic requirements of each industrial project. The lever can be supplied with or without a colored plastic coating: if coated, the color may indicate the type of fluid handled or reflect the corporate brand identity. The plastic covering is also screen‑printable, offering the client extensive aesthetic and informational customization.

MATERIALS

Mollificio Valli’s ball valve levers are made from high‑quality materials selected for mechanical strength, durability, and compatibility with diverse operating environments. Commonly used materials include:

  • Carbon steel: offers high mechanical resistance and is suitable for general‑purpose applications.
  • AISI 304 stainless steel: corrosion‐resistant and ideal for humid or aggressive environments.
  • Aluminium: lightweight yet strong, used where overall weight reduction is essential.
  • Brass: provides good corrosion resistance and excellent machinability, frequently used in hydraulic systems.

SURFACE TREATMENTS

To enhance mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, Mollificio Valli offers various surface treatments on request:

  • Trivalent zinc plating (white or yellow): protects against corrosion and ensures a uniform aesthetic finish.
  • Zinc‑nickel plating: delivers high resistance to corrosion and wear, ideal for aggressive environments and demanding applications.
  • Deltaprotekt®: a layered zinc coating providing cathodic protection and chemical resistance.
  • Electropolishing: improves surface finish and corrosion resistance of stainless steels.
  • Plastic coating: applied to indicate fluid type or reinforce brand identity; the coating is screen‑printable for enhanced aesthetic and informational customization.

APPLICATIONS

Mollificio Valli’s ball valve levers are used across a wide array of industrial sectors, including:

  • Industrial process systems: for fluid flow control in process plants.
  • Hydraulic sector: in water distribution and treatment systems.
  • Food industry: in systems requiring compliance with hygiene and sanitary regulations.
  • Chemical and pharmaceutical industry: where high chemical resistance is essential.
  • HVAC systems: for control of heat-transfer fluids in heating and cooling networks.
  • Fire extinguishers: for safe and reliable release of extinguishing agents, where precision and dependability are critical.

The design and production of these levers prioritize ease of use and reliability, tailored to the specific demands of each industry sector.
